Shamata: Buddhist Meditation 101

In-person only at Denison University’s Spritual Life Center at Gilpatrick

When people talk about "mindfulness" in a modern wellness context, they're usually referring to specific aspects extracted from the foundational Buddhist practice of shamata, or "calm abiding" meditation. This session will focus on shamata; how to practice, it's benefits, potential obstacles, and how to integrate it throughout your day. Bring your questions, your doubts, your experiences; whatever’s on your mind! All are welcome.
